Designing a Web-based Operator Interface for the Decentralized Control of Automated Energy Production Systems
- Type:Bachelor/Master
- Supervisor:
As part of the energy transition, energy production is becoming more and more decentralized, i.e. large central systems are being reduced and smaller energy production systems are being set up decentrally. At the same time, the use of artificial intelligence is continuously increasing the level of automation in the control of energy production systems. Decentralization and automation have a massive impact on the workplace and tasks of operators (i.e. people who control and monitor the production systems). The monitoring and control of decentralized and at the same time highly automated systems will be carried out centrally in the future. Operators become “teleoperators” and monitor several systems at the same time. This change in the range of tasks places new demands on operators that may negatively impact performance and well-being.
In order to understand the effects and, on this basis, design adaptive systems for the operators, a web-based operator interface for the decentralized control of automated energy production systems should be implemented in this practical seminar. This environment is intended to be used in experimental studies that can also be carried out with non-experts. The task of the practical seminar is to design the user interface and implement it in the form of an running web application.
