Thesis & Practical Seminar Projects

The human-centered systems lab (h-lab) headed by Prof. Dr. Alexander Maedche (research group “Information Systems I", formerly ISSD) focuses in research, education, and innovation on designing human-centered systems for better work & life.  Teaching and research is tightly interconnected in our research group. Therefore, thesis & practical seminar projects are closely connect to our research topics.

We offer thesis projects and practical seminars (Seminarpraktikum) (4,5 ECTS). They are part of several modules and provide a complementary alternative to traditional lectures. In practical seminars, students develop a running software prototype for a defined topic.

We offer the following value propositions for students engaging in a thesis & practical seminar project in our research group:

  • Work together with us and our cooperation partners on a topic that has real-world relevance and impact
  • Build up expertise in AI & biosignal sensor processing technologies as well as Data Science
  • Engage with innovative interactive technologies and learn design methods & techniques for human-centered systems
  • Apply established research methods and deliver scientific knowledge

On this page you find currently offered topics for bachelor and master thesis as well as practical seminars. We will also consider thesis proposals from students fitting to the research interests of the research group. Please inform yourself on our Web pages and approach us directly.
