Designing Crowd-Feedback Systems
-
User involvement is of critical importance in the development of any information system (IS). In the recent years, crowdsourcing in user-centered information systems evaluation has received growing interest in research and practice. While in crowd-testing the crowd interacts with the IS in order to identify errors, in crowd-feedback the crowd is asked for explicit, mostly verbal feedback, including opinions and perceptions of the IS design.
With crowd-feedback systems, feedback requesters can provide users with structure and guidance for providing dedicated feedback. The outcomes of these systems then comprise quantitative and qualitative data, that contain valuable issues, praises, and ideas for further improvement from the user perspective (Oppenlaender et al. 2021). In our research we analyze and design crowd-feedback systems in order to improve quality and quantity of feedback.
