Digital technologies allow different stakeholders to share information efficiently. This is particularly exciting for the domain of Citizen Science, as the active and participatory exchange between citizens and researchers on research topics offers enormous opportunities for both sides. Citizens can better understand and shape research relevant to them, and researchers can gain insights into issues and data with broad social relevance. 
To promote the active and participatory exchange between citizens and researchers, we at IISM are developing a digital citizen science platform (DCS Platform), enabling citizens to contribute their own questions and ideas to research projects so they can be discussed, evaluated, and shaped together. The platform is currently in development and scheduled to be released for a (soft) launch in 2023.
