Dear Reader,
Thank you for your interest in my work. I am head of the Research Group "Emotion-adaptive Systems for Work & Learning".
In my research, I am interested in the following topics:
- Emotion-adaptive Systems for Emotional Competence and Regulation
I design intelligent, emotion-adaptive systems based on affective computing technologies. I focus on the development of emotional competence and regulation in collaboration or self-regulated learning.
- Virtual Meetings and Work
I investigate human behavior and system design in virtual meetings and work processes such as meetings, job search processes, leadership, and crowd work with regards to performance, well-being, and autonomy.
- Self-regulated Learning
I investigate the learning behavior and decisions in the process of self-regulation in learning with focus on emotions.
Together with my team I apply different technologies and methods
- Affective Computing Technologies with NLP, Wearables, and Biosignals
I use AI-based technologies such as sentiment and emotional analyses, natural language processing, and speech- and text-based agents in order to improve the workplace environment for the users. Further, I rely on werables and biosignals to understand human emotions and behavior.
For my research project, I design and develop artifacts based on relevant design methods and techniques such as participatory design and design science research.. For their evaluation, I apply an eclectic collection of methods for qualitative and quantitative research in laboratory and field experiments to evaluate my research artifacts on the individual and the team level.
